More than just helping artists compose and rehearse their music, The Barn offers an incredibly versatile recording experience. The Pozo Hondo Studio setup is based around a highly flexible "modular recording" gear base. A powerful blend of vintage analog hardware with state-of-the-art digital recording systems provides an easy to use solution for high quality demo recording. Some artists may find the sounds they get here ready for a full album release.
Pozo Hondo's recording rig was designed, built, and is maintained by husband/wife production team Joshua and Elise Moore. They have, along with owner Sheila Youngblood, arranged one of the most innovative recording spaces in the country. By "taking the walls out" between production and performance with an ensemble setup, workflow is quick and exciting. However, Pozo Hondo utilizes cutting edge temporary isolation and baffle structures to make sure that the sound is tight and controlled, microphone bleed is minimized, and monitoring is still clear and accurate.
And in the coming months, a satellite recording rig featuring Pro Tools LE will be able to be set up in any building at Rancho Milagro for recording overdubs or demos. Full fiber optic networking between the buildings will provide fast and easy file transfers.
Elise serves as studio manager but is also available for hire as a tracking engineer. And, Josh is available for hire as a producer/engineer. They can oversee every step of your composition from conceptualization to final master.
